Phototherapy System Data Dictionary Sample Screens Sample Reports

The phototherapy module provides both a comprehensive clinical record and register of patients receiving phototherapy and assists nurses and doctors in the treatment of patients. The system promotes good clinical practice by providing support with treatment protocols and is a valuable staff training resource. The system handles the following broad categories of treatment:

  • Narrow-Band UVB
  • Broad-Band UVB
  • Bath Psoralen-drug UVA (PUVA)
  • Oral Psoralen-drug UVA (PUVA)
  • Hand/Foot treatments
  • Other treatments

The system is designed to be (and is in practice) used during and as part of the patient treatment process. To achieve this goal the system provides highly comprehensive data capture, whilst enabling the input to be collected quickly. The ease with which clinicians of all grades have adopted use of the system, confirms the success of the system in achieving this goal.

The design of the system follows current guidelines and has been designed together with staff from a leading UK teaching hospital. The system generates automatically a range of comprehensive documentation for clinical notes, EPR inclusion, and letters to GPs/referring doctors. The generated documents have been favourably received by general practitioners and hospital doctors who now receive comprehensive, legible information for every treatment, and typically within hours rather than days, weeks, or maybe not at all (as is often the case where a HICSS system is not used).

Annotated diagrams of the treatment are recorded as part of the data capture process. These diagrams are displayed as part of the on-line patient record, adding to the clarity of information provided.
